Zone Text Amendment No. 2020-03: a request by the City of Hanford to amend Title 17, Section 17.08.030 – Commercial, Office, and Industrial Zone Use Table of the Hanford Municipal Code by adding Commercial Hemp Business (e.g., cultivation, manufacture, distribution, transportation, and lab testing) as a conditionally permitted use in the I-L Light Industrial and I-H Heavy Industrial zone district, and to add Hemp retailers (5% or more of a retailer’s business or gross receipts is derived from CBD sales) as a permitted use in C-S Service Commercial, C-H Highway Commercial, MX-C Corridor Mixed Use, and MX-D Downtown Mixed Use, and as a conditionally permitted use in C-R Regional Commercial. The amendment also includes an addition of Chapter 17.67, adding purpose and intent, definitions, and establishing the location of hemp retailers and commercial hemp businesses in the City of Hanford.
